No chains can hold it! No tomb can seal it!

The year 1944 was a pretty huge one for Universal Pictures and the Monsters; four new monster movies hit theaters in just a seven month period from June to December, and two of those were Mummy movies! The first of which was THE MUMMY'S GHOST, which is the first of two sequels to The Mummy's Tomb which we just recently checked out a couple Saturday's ago. The Mummy's Tomb was an extraordinary sequel to one of the major films, and I honestly had no idea there were follow-up films to it! The legendary Lon Chaney, Jr....

War horror movies have been popping up pretty frequently the last few years, with films like Overlord, Ghosts of War, and Werewolves of the Third Reich, and I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of this genre of horror, but after seeing the trailer for BLOOD VESSEL, I instantly knew this movie was going to be on my watch-list. After all, what could possibly go wrong with soldiers hopping aboard an Nazi ghost ship in the middle of the nowhere?!  Little did they know, the ship wasn't inhabited by ghosts or even zombies... this ship has vampires! Director Ju...

THEY'RE MARKED...for DEATH!

By now in our countdown to Halloween of Universal Monsters movies, we've hit the year 1944 and we've already seen four Invisible Man movies: The Invisible Man, The Invisible Man Returns, The Invisible Woman and Invisible Agent. Five movies in eleven years which pretty much all show the same thi...

Horror movies where giant animals terrorize communities are usually pretty freakin' sweet, and even when they're really bad, they're usually pretty good. One of these movies I've been meaning to watch for forever - CRAWL - hit Prime Video recently so I was reminded to finally sit down and watch it. And man, was this film even better than I thought it was going to be. The premise to the film - as with many of these types of movies - is very simple, but with quality special effects, wild twists and turns, and some crazy life or death situations, you can take a very sim...

The horror that is DRACULA returns... to terrify a countryside... to curse and destroy even what it loves!

As of today, we're officially eighteen weeks into our 31 Weeks to Halloween countdown, and I was super stoked to check out this weeks movie: Son of Dracula from 1943! Eighteen weeks in, and we've only seen two Dracula movies so far, those being the classic Lugosi Dracula film and Dracula's Daughter, which looking back at it now, is one of the more drab films in the Universal Monsters series so up until this point compared to some of the other unbelievably fantastic fi...
