Fear The Plague Doctor!

The Black Death - a fitting name for one of the largest and most devastating pandemics in all of human history. The Black Death is responsible for an estimated 75 to 200 million deaths in Europe and Eurasia between 1346 and 1353. It was a disease that haunted people of all over, causing many to lose loved ones and live in fear of contamination. The Black Death was a plague known as the bubonic plague - initially, the infected person will experience flu-like symptoms in the first one to seven days of being infected. The person may experience the chills, headaches, vomiting, and fever prior to lymph nodes forming where they will often spread. The bubonic plague was commonly spread through infe

Decapitated - Anticult

Technical death metal outfit DECAPITATED are back after three years with a brand new, hard-hitting roller coaster of an album entitled "Anticult." It's the seventh studio album by the legendary Poland-based band, and with it, the band are determined to take back their reign as champions of the tech-death arena. With some straight up wild riffs and the crazy percussion to go with it, Decapitated have managed to create something fresh and appealing to both their fanbase and new fans alike. Not only are the riffs super catchy and brutally aggressive, they are the type of sound that if you just had it going in the background as white noise, you wouldn't make it long before it catches your attent

Celebrating 11 Years of Summer Slaughter Tour

If you're a metalhead living in the United States and you haven't heard of Summer Slaughter, you're doing something wrong. Summer Slaughter is THE metal tour of the year for me - every year that I've gone, the bands get heavier, the fans get rowdier, and I fall more in love with our scene. Summer Slaughter has always seemed to have a focus on death metal and deathcore, but progressive metal bands definitely made appearances over the years. But in 2017, the Summer Slaughter Tour returns for its eleventh year, and the tour brings with it one of the craziest line-ups in their history! This years tour kicks off this Thursday, so I figured what's a better way to spend a hot summer Saturday than t

Widowmaker - Self Titled

WIDOWMAKER have been creating quite a name for themselves in the past few months since they changed their name from Gatekeeper, and the earnings have been well deserved as these guys have clearly been putting their work in. This year alone, they did a stint of live shows with Slaughter To Prevail, they're about to finish up a tour with Born of Osiris and Volumes, they signed a deal with SharpTone Records, dropped two sick music videos, were nominated to open up the Summer Slaughter tour, and to top it off, their new album "Widowmaker" was released July 7th. It's no doubt been a busy year for the five dudes from Huntsville, Alabama - their new record is the latest addition to what has been a

Dying Fetus - Wrong One To Fuck With

One of death metal's most prominent faces - the legendary DYING FETUS - dropped their eighth studio album on June 23rd, and the overall opinion of this record is finally in: even after 26 years, Dying Fetus are the wrong ones to fuck with. The Maryland-based trio that make up Dying Fetus are back after five years with what could possibly be the most brutal assault the band has brought with them yet. It doesn't take long into the first song - "Fixated on Devastation" - that the blast beats and chaotic guitar-work leads into a headbangers dream. This album is fast, it's brutal, and its relentless. Vocalist and guitarist John Gallagher is joined by bassist/vocalist Sean Beasley and drummer Trey

Show Review: Warped Tour 2017

Warped Tour 2017 has come and gone - and in its wake it has left behind some sunburned skin and empty wallets, but most importantly: incredible memories. Soulless Cult hit up the Long Island, New York date of the annual summer touring festival and had an absolutely mental day filled with back-to-back brutality, sweet sweet riffage, and breakdowns to please even the hardest of metalheads. Here's some of the highlights of this years Warped experience from your favorite cult! We started off our day bright and early with SWORN IN as they kicked off the party. I've been a fan of SI for the past few years, and been lucky enough to see them a couple of times before today. They bring it each and eve

The Acacia Strain - Gravebloom

If there's one heavy band that needs no introduction, there's a good chance its The Acacia Strain. With their "tune low, die slow" slogan and built up anger and frustration with the world, the band is back with their eight studio album, "Gravebloom," and with it, the band bring their most epic, depressingly brutal album to date. It's slow, it's heavy, and it's sad - three things that TAS blended together to deliver the punishment their fans have been begging for since their last album - Coma Witch - dropped and brought with it some of their best and honest work to date. Gravebloom is just as relentless and brutally sad, and it is an incredible piece of work, bringing TAS into a whole new cat
