The Death Deities, Part I

It's certainly not news that there are thousands upon thousands of different cultures throughout the world. With an estimated 7.5 billion people living on our planet, it was inevitable that over the course of history, different cultures would co-exist, each with their own ideas, technology, language, inventions, and of course mythology. These sets of mythos encompass all sorts of beliefs and gods that are unique to the culture. But just how unique are they, really? An incredible amount of these different sets of people all believe in a death deity. These Gods of Death take many different shapes and forms, and they vary from one culture to the next. There are even different types of death dei

Through The Eyes Of The Dead - Disomus

It's been seven long years since the last release from arguably one of the scene's most devastating and notoriously brutal bands - Through The Eyes of The Dead. But luckily for us, the band graced us with their latest offering - Disomus - on October 13th, and it once again restores TTEOTD back in their throne as death metal legends. Disomus - which is when a fetus is born with two heads, yet one body - is a straight up pulverizing beat down through the use of their instruments. "Hate The Living" kicks off Disomus, and it right away jumps right into the action: sick guitars, epic vocals, and thunderous drums; it won't take more than a few seconds to realize that you're listening to a Through

Horror Club: Cult of Chucky

It's been four years since the last installment of the Chucky/Child's Play franchise, and the most diabolical children's play thing is back and as brutal as ever. Cult of Chucky is the follow-up to 2013's Curse of Chucky, and it has four former cast members returning to the screen this time around and of course, Brad Dourif returning as the voice of the infamous red-haired Chucky. The movie was released October 3rd on Netflix, Blu-ray, and DVD. To recap the film, Andy Barclay is a grown man now, and keeps the nearly destroyed head of Chucky locked away in a safe, hidden in a wall. The Good Guy is still alive, and still manages to taunt and harass Andy, even though all he is is a dead on a po

The Murder of Black Dahlia

With the release of "Nightbringers," the new album by melodic death metallers The Black Dahlia Murder, there's no better time than now to share the story of the real life Black Dahlia and what is one of the most famous unsolved murders in all of American history, as well as one of the oldest unsolved cases in Los Angeles County. The young and beautiful Elizabeth Short was brutally killed at the age of only 22 years old, and her case has sparked a ton of conspiracy theories and has caught the attention of the worldwide true crime community. Elizabeth Short was born on July 29, 1924, and she spent her early life living between Massachusetts and Florida before eventually settling down in Califo

The Black Dahlia Murder - Nightbringers

It always feels like it's been so long since the last album by The Black Dahlia Murder was released, but it's purely because nobody can ever get enough from the Michigan-based death metal legends. There's a reason they have the legacy that they do in this scene, and if you've been paying attention to their last seven records, you know exactly what those reasons are. The Black Dahlia Murder have always been one of the hardest hitting, inspirational, and straight up brutal bands in the death metal ring, and with the release of their new album "Nightbringers" on October 6th, the band continue to deliver on their crushing delivery. "Widowmaker" is the first epic track to greet you when you hit p
